** Special Request for Lily, Our special needs girl.

Any organization that does rescue is always in need of funding. The money that we collect, whether it be from donations, auctions or the sale of merchandise from our site, goes directly to the care and placement of the Great Pyrenees dogs that come into our organization.

If you would like to offer financial help, please feel free to shop around or make a donation. AGPRescue is a 501c3 organization so all donations are tax deductable.

Thank you for your assistance with our rescue efforts.

Special Request for Lily, Our special needs girl.

This lovely girl is Lily, a 1 yr old Great Pyrenees/Collie mix.
Please read her story below and help if you can...

Lily was found starved & badly injured in rural West Virginia in February. Only 44 lbs, though she should be ~75 lbs, Lily could hardly walk. She was shy, afraid she'd be hit when anyone raised a hand. Her "owners" were located, but declined to retrieve her. Instead, they bought a new puppy.

Though they'd originally named her "Precious", they obviously had no idea how to properly care for a precious being. Despite the horrible treatment Lily received in the past, she is the sweetest dog we've ever fostered. Everyone who meets her falls in love w/ her! Lily loves people, dogs & cats. She doesn't even chase our pet rabbits!

She adopted our previous foster puppy & took gentle care of him, obviously delighting in his company. Since she's come to a loving foster home, Lily's spirit has recovered & she's gained confidence. She's a very affectionate "velcro" dog. But it will take a lot more than just love to repair Lily's legs, due to the neglect of her former "owners".

Lily will need at least 2 surgeries to repair a torn cruciate ligament & hip dysplasia. The cost is expected to be at least $5000. Lily will probably always need pain meds & glucosamine. A home w/ no stairs would be best.

If you can help Lily by making a contribution to her vet care, or offering her the permanent home she deserves, please contact Victoria Marshman, AGPR director, at BPKennel@msn.com or 804-795-7847.

If you'd like to meet Lily, learn more about her or see more photos, please contact Shelley Poston, foster mom, at llonellama@comcast.net or 304-692-7403.

Thank you for any help that you can give to Lily.
